Rachel Schwartzmann: Keep it Simply Outstanding

Ankle boots are great for making statements. But what if you want to dress down just this one time? Rachel, a fashion blogger and true style star, teaches us how to rock the Fashion Week in an all white ensemble and still stand out.

To know a little more about her, Rachel Schwartzmann is a true California babe. Though she’s been based in the Big Apple for the past 9 years, she never fails to look back at the places that played important roles in her life like San Francisco and Texas.

Currently, Rachel majors in Advertising and Marketing Communications at the Fashion Institute of Technology. She juggles her responsibilities in school with being a Fashion Insider for the LookLab website.

Fashion writing is also one of her passions. Rachel contributes regularly to The Huffington Post and updates her blogs which are The Style Line and Le Style Child. With over 300 fans and 4000 plus karma in Lookbook.nu, Rachel is certainly enjoying her own way in fashion.

Here are a couple of tips to stand out in the busy streets of New York and crowded world of fashion:

1. Less is more: Do away with the clutter to stand-out.

In the last season, we’ve seen the rise of not only Lady Gaga but also everything that’s reminiscent of her in the fashion industry. Though all things big, chunky, flamboyant and Gaga are oh so exciting, it’s nice to go back to basics once in awhile to let your hair down.

What can say this more that going for an all white outfit like what Rachel wore to the first day of the NYFW. Her soft dress shirt from H&M looked pretty basic but dreamy mainly because of the light fabric used. Topping it off with a white lace coat from Zara continued to give off the relaxed and calm feel that her over all outfit is going for.

BONUS TIP: The best way to pull of pieces in the same color is to make sure that they’re made of different materials. In Rachel’s case, it’s lace and light cloth. Materials that complement or contrast one another will do just fine in making that bold statement.

2. Nothing to worry:

Wearing the right amount of accessories can pull you through. Rachel’s all white outfit could have turned drab easily if not for the pop of color from her accessories and bedazzled footwear. She was able to put in together a nice mix of cream, warm yellow, bright red and brown. All of these colors worked together and accentuated the dominant color in her outfit which is white.

3. Confidence is the key.

Making the cut above the rest is not for everyone. Only a few are able to break free from the scene and stand out – the chosen few who are able to carry themselves win in this battle. Donning on piles and piles of heavy cloth or make-up rarely does the trick. It is still the confidence that you exude from within that can make you look a million bucks even if you’re only wearing a jeans and shirt combo or even a plain white outfit like Rachel.

Don’t be afraid to let your hair down in a simple outfit. Flaunt your style with confidence and a little help from accessories and a bevy of textures. Fashion is not what you wear, but how you wear it.

Celebrities With Their Own Jewelry Line

Just because a celebrity is a celebrity now doesn’t mean they will be making millions of dollars every year from then on. In fact, every celebrity has their own “expiry date” or at least the day when producers won’t be asking them to make movies anymore. So instead of relying on savings, several celebrities decide to use their fame to release their own business – or most commonly, their own jewelry line. Several of today’s most famous, talented actresses have their own jewelry lines and stores to ensure that even after many years, they’d still be making money. Here are some of the smartest, talented women of today’s Hollywood:
angelina jolie jewelry

Angelina Jolie

Who wouldn’t buy a piece of jewelry designed with the beautiful actress as an inspiration right? Just bearing the name Jolie is like saying the piece of jewelry is worth millions – okay, so it probably is, anyway. After recently releasing her line with designer Robert Procop, surely many people would love to wear one of her pieces. For those who want to sell her items would also have to think of an elegant jewelry display to match the name too.

Paris Hilton

Although I’m not sure if we can call her an actress, but this heiress is one smart businesswoman. With a lot of businesses on the side, this pretty lady also has a jewelry line of her own. Ms. Hilton designs a wide variety of jewelry pieces that even includes Swarovski crystals. Even if she doesn’t hold any Grammy awards nor has starred in any internationally claimed movie, there’s no one in high society who would think twice about wearing her pieces.

kate hudson

Kate Hudson

Once upon a time, she was like today’s Kristen Stewart – minus the cheating, of course. But today, Kate Hudson shouldn’t be looked over, especially when it comes to business. Still as gorgeous as before, only with less movie offers unfortunately, Ms. Hudson produces Chrome Hearts (CH+KH), her own jewelry line that focuses mainly on Aquamarine pieces, diamonds and freshwater pearls. Now that sounds like an expensive, but very intriguing line.

nicole richie

Nicole Richie

Not to be outdone by her former frenemy, Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie also has something to offer when it comes to jewelry. As the creator of House of Harlow, her jewelry pieces consist mostly of pyramid cocktail rings, stud earrings, pendant necklaces, bangles and much, much more. Unlike her frenemy, Richie hasn’t been in the movie industry as much. Instead, the famous socialite is known mostly for her non-friendship with Paris Hilton, her partying, her smart business ventures and of course, as the daughter of Lionel Richie.

Besides talent, celebrities also have to think of their future. Otherwise, they might just end up on the wrong side of their life – all over again. Oh by the way, you might want to check Vintage Fashion Jewelry.

How to Choose the Type of Jewelry Display for your Booth

Whenever I decide to sell at bazaars and set up my booth, I have to consider a lot of things. You see, when it comes to setting up booths at various sales and market displays, it’s not just the budget and the fancy market that I have to consider. Sometimes, during these events, it’s all about the type of jewelry and the attractive jewelry display that I have to consider.

When I set up a booth, I make sure that they don’t look the same – even if the booths are in two different events. I like having to consider other factors in order to choose the type of display my jewelry would most likely stand out in.

First of all, I think the season is an important factor to consider in designing my theme for my jewelry. If I set up a booth during the summer, it will definitely look much different than the one I set up during winter. The colors I choose for my booth are also different, especially because summer colors are usually trendy and chic during the summer days, but when it comes to winter, simple and elegant colors are more in tune. Sometimes, even the jewelry I sell differs, according to the season.

For example, if it’s summer, I only choose jewelry displays that will help my summer-y jewelry stand out among the rest.

Second, sale fairs happen in various locations around town. Sometimes, I even cross county just to sell at another town. In this case, I always consider the weather and my booth’s location. It’s definitely a wrong choice to set up a summer theme if the weather in the booth’s location is kind of rainy. Not only will my booth’s display look out of place, it may just defeat my purpose of standing out. If the weather is rainy, I want to give my customers a reason to wear the jewelry despite the rain. Thus, in these cases, I need to find a theme that will look nice for the weather and the booth’s location.

Third, the latest trends also affect the type of display for my jewelry. For example, now that the Dark Knight has been released, I might set up my gothic booth to look like a set from Dark Knight. Not only will my booth look interesting with its jewelry, I might also be able to attract Dark Knight Fans.

What about you? How do you choose the type of jewelry display for your booths?
